Etisalat Nigeria has provided a system through which their subscribers can share/transfer airtime on their sim with other Etisalat subscribers.
The service allows subscribers to share or transfer the airtime already loaded on their sims to another etisalat subscriber.
HOW TO TRANSFER AIRTIME ON ETISALAT
To transfer airtime on Etisalat you make use of this USSD code;
Dial *223*PIN*AMOUNT*ETISALAT NUMBER#
A notification comes up with the amount of airtime you requested to transfer and also prompting you to either reply with 1 to confirm the transfer or any button to cancel the transfer.
All Etisalat sims come with 0000 (4 zeros) as the default PIN and can be used to make airtime transfers though it can be modified to something more personal.
To transfer airtime dial *223*0000*200*08091234567#
The above is assumed to have 0000 as etisalat airtime transfer PIN and sending #200 to the Etisalat number 08091234567.
HOW TO CHANGE ETISALAT AIRTIME TRANSFER DEFAULT PIN
Like I earlier said, all Etisalat sims come with 0000 as default airtime share PIN. You can share airtime using the default, 0000, PIN but it is usually advised to change the default PIN to something more personal so as to prevent unusual transfer of your airtime by unauthorized persons.
To change your default Etisalat airtime share PIN use this USSD code format;
*247*0000*NEW PIN#
For example, if I want to change my default Etisalat airtime share PIN to 1234, the code should look this way. *247*0000*1234#
In the same vein you can change your Etisalat airtime share PIN anytime you wish to even if you have changed from the default PIN to a personal PIN. You can always change your PIN over and over again.
In cases like this all you need to do is to replace the place for default PIN with your old PIN.
Assuming you have changed your default PIN to 1234 and in the future wish to further change it to 7890. The USSD code to change the PIN will now look this way *247*1234*7890#
Always change your PIN to something which you can easily remember but in a situation where you not remember your PIN, you can call Etisalat customer care on 200 and they will help you retrieve or reset your PIN but that would be after you have answered some questions to verify that you are the true owner of the line.
Important Points About Etisalat Airtime Transfer
The minimum airtime to transfer at a go is #10 while the maximum is #20,000.
The maximum airtime transfer limit per day is #100,000. You cannot transfer more than #100,000 airtime in a day.
You must have at least #10 worth of airtime as balance. You cannot transfer all airtime amount as there must be a balance of #10 left. Assuming you have #100 worth of airtime, you can only transfer #90.
Etisalat airtime transfer does not attract any fee.
