Globacom Nigeria has once again raised the bar higher in the telecommunications sector, this time, with the launch of glo jumbo (Sim) prepaid plan. The glo jumbo sim comes packed with #200,000 (Two hundred thousand) worth of airtime. Make no mistakes about it,that’s a whopping sum of #200,000 you just saw right there.
Glo jumbo sim prepaid plan comes as the default prepaid plan which welcomes new customers to the glo network with preloaded 200,000 airtime which can be used to browse,SMS and call glo customers. The airtime comes locked and is unlocked upon the value of each recharge made.
Every Glo jumbo sim comes with 200,000 bonus airtime but cannot be used as it is locked and can only be unlocked for usage when the sim is recharged with airtime. Each airtime recharge value has a proportional value of the bonus airtime it unlocks. When the bonus airtime is unlocked for usage it is being subtracted from the bonus airtime till the bonus airtime gets completely depleted or finally expires after a 6 month period.
The unlocked bonus is valid for 30days.

When a recharge is made, the bonus airtime is split into main account, voice bonus accounts and data bonus account. Main account is for any type of usage (local and international calls,SMS and other value added services (VAS)), voice bonus account is for only Glo to Glo calls,data bonus account is for data to browse.
For example, if a customer on the Jumbo prepaid plan makes a recharge of #100, #2,200 bonus airtime is unlocked and subtracted from the FREE #200,000 jumbo bonus airtime. N100 goes to Main account for local and international calls, SMS, subscription based services and other value added services, #500 goes to Bonus account(for glo to glo calls) and 50MB data bonus (valued at #1,600)for browsing.
The total value for a recharge of #100 airtime is #2,200.Once an airtime recharge of #100 is made,the total bonus account of #200,000 goes down by #2,200 leaving a balance of #197,800.
If the same customer makes a 2nd recharge of #1,000, the sum of #16,000 is depleted from the balance of #197,800 left off the FREE Bonus Airtime. Of the #16,000 received, #1,000 goes to Main account, #5,000 goes to the voice Bonus account and 500MB (valued at #16,000) goes to the data bonus account . The customer at this point has #181,800 left in the unlocked Jumbo Bonus account which can be accessed when the next recharge is made.
Unlocked bonuses have a validity of 30days. After 30days any unused bonus left expires and disappears.
The more a recharge is the made the more the #200,000 jumbo bonus account is depleted. It goes on this way till the whole bonus account is depleted or finally expires after 6 months depending on which ever comes first.
The glo jumbo prepaid plan has a validity of 6 months after which all bonuses,both unlocked and locked, expires and the sim is automatically migrated to Glo Gbam plus prepaid plan.
MIGRATION TO GLO JUMBO PREPAID PLAN
Newly registered glo sims are automatically on glo jumbo prepaid plan by default. New glo customers need not do anything, just register, activate and get on glo jumbo prepaid plan.
Existing glo customers can migrate to glo jumbo prepaid plan by dialing this USSD code *224#
MIGRATION OUT OF GLO JUMBO PREPAID PLAN
To migrate out of glo jumbo prepaid plan is very simple. If you want to migrate out of glo jumbo prepaid plan just migrate to any other glo prepaid plan. Dial the code of the prepaid plan you want to migrate to and you will automatically be migrated out of glo jumbo prepaid plan.
Mind you, whenever you migrate out of glo jumbo prepaid plan you lose all bonuses both locked and unlocked.
CALL RATES ON GLO JUMBO PREPAID PLAN
On-net calls (glo to glo) are charged from the Voice Bonus account. The voice bonus is only for Glo to Glo calls at 80kobo per secs.
Calls to other local networks are charged from the main recharge account at 38kobo per secs.
When you have a voice bonus, calls to glo numbers are first charged from it at 80k/s. When there is no voice bonus glo calls are charged from the main account at 38k/s.
SMS RATES ON GLO JUMBO PREPAID PLAN
SMS to all local networks are charged at #4. SMS is charged from the main account.
HOW TO CHECK UNLOCKED JUMBO BONUS
To check the unlocked jumbo bonus dial #122*24#. When you dial the code you receive the bonuses you have available,voice bonus for glo to glo calls and data bonus.
HOW TO CHECK LOCKED JUMBO BONUS
To check the locked jumbo bonus dial #122*23#. When you dial this code you will receive the balance left off the 200,000.
To get the glo jumbo sim bonus you need to recharge through recharge PINS or through electronic recharges (E-top UPS). Airtime received through easyshare (glo airtime share from another glo customer) does not qualify for the jumbo bonus.
